The French River Trading Post has been a popular destination for almost 70 years, attracting families and travelers on Highway 69. The Trading Post was established in 1956 by Bill Biggs and his parents, Lorne and Edith, as a small gift shop on a gravel road. Over time, it has grown into a thriving hospitality business that offers dining and world-class service. It is still a family-owned business, and today, Bill's wife, Diane Biggs, is the owner and operator, along with her daughter Tracey. The Biggs family includes Bill's son, Ted Biggs, his grandson Ben, as well as Bill's granddaughter, Jessica, and her daughter, Amaya. Every season, the business continues to flourish and serve thousands of customers.
Canadian-made moccasins, souvenirs, local First Nations handicraft, and our famous cream and butter fudge made fresh in-house are just a few of the treasures that families from all over have come to expect from the Trading Post.
